My Dissertation was entitled: "Revealing Value at Transport Interchanges, through Pause"
The project began with an initial study of urban metabolic theory, through which I analysed the material and energy flows at my site to identify how design can be used to improve efficiency in the existing landscape. These findings were used to explore the concept of creating a place of pause and engagement to contrast the constant movement and disconnect of a transport interchange. My landscape intervention also encourages social, economic and environmental engagement through transforming this single-use space into a multi-functional and inclusive landscape that reveals and generates value.
